Brands for Serpentine Belt?

i just put in a prestone belt. i know they are made to meet or exceed factory for less money so i figure they are good enough

I was wondering the same thing, the cheap belts and the expensive belts are a nearly twenty bucks difference!

What makes a good belt so expensive? Rubber compound, perhaps a better cord to reduce stretching? I'm talking serpentine belts here.

i work at autozone, we sell Dayco's and the gatorbacks. they are both really expensive, so we dont sell too many of them, but they actually have 1 and 2 year warranties depending on the application. the crappy valucraft and duralast dont have warranties, plus, i've had multiple people bring them back b/c they snapped while or right after they installed them.

this isnt always the case with car parts, but for some stuff, you get what you pay for

even though i have a discount at autozone, there is some stuff that i will not buy from them, napa has always been my favorite place for car parts (i need to get a job there lol). i've never gotten screwed over by them like i have at other parts stores, i'd go there if i were you
