So I was drive'n home today and a guy yelled to me out his window that it seems my brake lights are stuck in the on position. Does anybody know what this could be? What I mean is that I hit the brakes and the lights seem not to change in brightness because they are already at that point.

Any Suggestions?

Well, the first place I'd look would be to see if the brake switch is stuck closed.

Brake lights can find ground through other things (like cruise control, or just a short), but that's the first thing to check. Pull the connector and see if the lights go out. Stick an ohmmeter on the switch side to see if it's open or closed, and if it changes when you push the brake pedal.

+1, probably the brake light switch. The one on my Explorer has crapped out about 5 times already. They're cheap and real easy to replace though.
