brake lights and dash lights stoped working

i have a 1992 mazda b 2200 when i turn on the head lights they come on but the dash lights dont and the tail lights dont either i checked the fuse and replaced it but it blows everytime the headlights are turned on any help or sujestions wanted

You have a blown out bulb. It's probably in the instrument panel, but the tail lights are easier to access so check them first.

The filaments in automotive bulbs are pretty thick, and sometimes when the blow out one end will stay attached while the other falls across another piece of metal somewhere in the bulb causing a short. So every time you turn the lights on the fuse pops.

i already checked the tail lights so it looks like i get to tear into the dash, thanks for the advice
