After our 4x4 converson and the intitial bleeding we still have a soft pedal and the brake light is still on. The 2wd had and electronic unit where the speedo cable went into the transmission. The new cable that hooks into the t-case uses an old style gear drive. Would the brake light be on due to the proportioning valve moving during brake bleeding or could it be speedo cable change? What is the best method to center the proportioning valve?

Come on....

Someone should know this one!

What year are we talking? I'd check the brake fluid sensor on the master cylinder.

I would check your wheel cylinders. My bronco did that as well, I changed the wheel cylinders and bled the brakes and the light went off

It's an 89 truck but the axles are out of an 88. I will rebleed and adjust the rears again. If that is not it I will start changing parts.

Ditto...or the connector to the master...that little electronic plug, is out or not connected properly...

Thanks. I'll check that tonight.
