Brake Help Asap Please!

ok, well too late..sprayed pb plaster on them haha. im gonna just take it easy at work tomorrow then take it apart when i get off and check it out.

The bolt that you took off to get the caliper off is attached to a pin that slides in and out of the caliper bracket there is a rubber seal that goes around it and it is probably not a good idea to spray PB blaster on the rotor it'll cause the pads to seperate

Not to mention lubricating the brake pads, which you do not want to do. Clean that crap off with brake cleaner.

Try and test the caliper by taking it off and using a C clamp to compress the piston. Take the brake fluid cap off first. If you are able to compress it, it should be working alright...brake fluid should bubble up out of the reservoir as you push the piston in.

hey guys, i think whatever was wrong is fixed now, i drove it around last night and all day today at work, and it didnt pull to that side, or smell or smoke like it was. i might take them apart on my day off and check it all, but so far so good.

Good stuff!

So, aside from using the PB blaster, what did you do?

My front brakes would lock up on me for no apparent reason...but then I read the manual and there, in the fine print, was a reference to brake grease on the slider pins...that fixed mine...

So you may have doused the slider pins inadvertantly...the thing is, you might want to put some proper brake grease on them if you do dismantle it or experience the same thing again...the PB blaster or other lubricant's don't usually have the staying power that brake grease does...and it's fairly inexpensive...
