Been sober a while now, as previously stated. I think it still has plenty of life left in her.

Hows that? make millions for sleep talking........ think I could live with that.

Frank

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but the question is about loosing sleep over it.

Sorry for your crap luck, 4x4fun. I only deal with the occasional single violent jerk right before slumber, as previously mentioned by 4x4Mike2004. I'd talk with my doctor about something more seemingly violent. Seriously. (if you toke please get a new source or stop buying the cheap stuff :) )

try ear plugs and take a bandana, fold in half across corners, tie it around your forhead and use the "flap" to cover your eyes (I don't like the sleeping masks, always pust pressure on my eyes, hence tieing around the forhead). I do that when I camping/staying somewhere even sometimes at home. Plus the bandana helps keeps the plugs in. My problem is I get up every day @ around 4:30 am. So I'm used to getting up before the ass crack of dawn and taking a leak. On days off, I still get up to take a leak and then I can't get back to full sleep. I more or less cat nap. Doesn't matter if I went to bed at 8pm or 3am. Also I don't dream anymore, or at least I don't remember any dreams. Been quite sometime. Something else to try is that sleepy time tea. Dunno if it works, but I imagine it helps.

nope i dont do anything, otc or other wise. i have to ask my GP about it. but its happens alot when i dont sleep for a few days then try and sleep. but it happens often when i do get normal sleep. and once im asleep im ok. its just getting there

and lucid dreams dude you have no idea. i wake up and im like wtf was that about.

I am not doctor. But it sounds like a sleep disorder. I would seriously talk to a doctor. It sounds like you arn't getting enough real sleep. REM(rapid eye movement) sleep its called. thats the stage of sleep where your brain is actually (they think anyways) processing the stuff you did during the day and other stuff.

If you don't get enough REM sleep the brain starts to do weird things and people literally start going crazy. seeing shits thats not there paranoia and other crap. Like snapping awake thinking somethings there. and then not rememebering it.

anyways as i said. im not a doctor. go see one.
Anyone watch Fight Club.... lol

that happens to me occasionally, but it's pretty rare.

My biggest problem with sleeping is a ringing in the ears. It's not loud enough to bother me during the day but when I go to bed it gets pretty irritating. Usually it's associated with hearing damage but I've been tested by audiologists and found no hearing loss. They told me that most causes of tinnitus (ear ringing) are "we don't know what caused it", so they just check to make sure it's not a sign of anything bad like hearing damage or a brain tumor, and as long as that stuff checks out, you just have to learn to deal with it.

It also seems to vary, if I drink a lot of caffeine or if I'm exposed to a lot of noise during the day it'll set it off and keep me up for awhile at night. As long as I'm careful I can keep it to a level that it's not disruptive, but sometimes it just can't be helped.

I have tinnitus from my earlier years of target practicing without hearing protection. That and loud car stereos. The fan creating white noise at night helps work wonders with it though. My wife drove me nuts when we first got together. She slept with the fan on, I wanted it dead silent. Now I can't fall asleep without a fan on and if we loose power and the fan stops, I wake up.

I get Tinnitus. I find its set off by too much sugar or caffeine as well so I Watch my intake of both carefully.

yea i get brain zapps at about 3 or 4 i will wake up sit straight up in bed look around and walk through the entire house grab a glass of sweet tea and head back to bed lay down and lay awake till about 5 or 6 then fall back to sleep only to wake up at 7

a teacher of mine had bad ringing ears. he ended up getting this hearing aid type device, but it created a type of constant white noise that would help drown out the ringing. I have it real bad myself. The phrase "silence is deafening" is definitely true with me! Its like taking a dozen alarm clocks, all stuck on their own single note, arrange them around my head and have them all go off at once. The more quiet it is, the louder the ringing gets. I've been tested and been told I have some hearing loss, but I'm not sure if it was because the ringing in my ears that drowned out the lil beeps on not. Didnt help they done it in what had to be the loudest room in the doc office.

I have a humidifier sitting next to my side of the bed to make some white noise. On the nights its really bad the humidifier doesn't touch it and I have to turn on the TV on sleep mode to turn off in an hour. I find that the humidifier masks it but it also helps to have something like the TV distracting my brain so I don't think about it. My wife has no problem with the humidifier but she doesn't like the TV being on. Fortunately mines never been loud enough that it could wake me up if the humidifier or TVshuts off, so I'm usually ok once I fall asleep.

My guess is mine happened from loud car stereos and turning my amp up real loud when I play guitar. I've always worn ear protection when shooting, and now I have to wear plugs when I ride my motorcycle because the wind noise is so loud inside my helmet.

I haven't really tested it out with sugar, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth anyway, most of the snacks I eat are of the salty type. I've read that salt and drinking alcohol can aggravate it as well, but they don't seem to do it in my case (plus it would have to be pretty bad to get me to stop drinking beer!)

I have never watched fight club, the film has no interest for me.

If it doesn't interest you...... then that's because you've never seen it.

Has almost absolutely nothing to do with fighting... it's a pretty deep film.

Frank

that usually happens to me too... but only cause i start thinking about other stuff thats real important... like did i do that super important thing? (like forgetting to pick someone up or thinking its like the next day all of the sudden.)

I know what you mean here, seems like the onl time I get to think about the day is before I got to sleep. Then my brain starts churning at full capacity again and I'm wide awake.
