Bought a truck with no dome light.

95 ranger xlt extended cab. I have had zero luck at 3 pick a parts. The whole assembly in the truck is gone. Where can imfind a dome light. New preferrably. Or what have others done? Led? Aftermarket piece? Not having a light brings the suck. I would like an upgrade from stock if possible the brighter the better.

I believe all '93-'11 Rangers used the same dome light (certainly '93-'98 I know for sure), can't be that hard to find one.
The Supercab one was unique in that it had 3 bulbs in it (it's pretty bright), so you'll probably want to look in Supercabs for a replacement.

You could use just about ant Ford domelight. The Mustang one with dual map lights is a popular swap and it is the same as the F series truck.

However the way they are wired to the body is prone to shorts and that may be why it is missing. The screws that hold it to the roof also supply power and ground. The plastic ends of the wires get brittle and cause shorts.

I got mine out of an Explorer at the JY for around $5.00. Not the OHC (though I do recommend adding one), but the light unit just behind the front seats. It screwed into the stock mounts for power and looks pretty nice. May be worth looking if you're around the scrap yard again.
