Bought a new F-150 this weekend..

I read it already lol. You can see them just fine, in all honesty they're not as dark as they look. These new f150 tail lights are uber bright from the factory.

I sprayed them the same color as the truck, but I mixed it about 3:1 with clear base, which made it pretty translucent as you can see.
 
Eh, well, your truck, you can do whatever you want to it. In Texas it's illegal though, usually cops don't pull you over for it, unless its way to dark.
 
Technically its illegal everywhere..
 
Yep, tail lights are supposed to be red only. Since I've tinted them you can see the red reflector anymore. I've had a couple cops behind me since doing this without any problem, but then again it took over a year for me to get pulled over in my Buick for not having a front license plate. When I get pulled over specifically for it then I may consider getting some LED tails. But judging by the amount of people I've seen have tinted tails for years and years, it may take a while *knock on wood*.
 
LOL, next day, "Sir do you know why I'm pulling you over...?"
