For a while the passenger side window would wig out(roll down and not up and VS.. but for the most part okay.

In May when I dropped the driver side door skin to swap a crummy speaker I noticed that on the underside of the door skin above the master window/lock switch there was evidence of arching. I cleaned the contacts and okayt....

Now I sold the truck (94 Explorer Sport 300K miles) and the chickypoo is frantic b/c BOTH the windows are stuck in the down position. I don't wanna leave her high n dry...

I checked the fuses and are okay.
The motors both make a slight noise (like a relay type noise) so I know they are getting juice. ..

Anyone know what wires to jiggle or if both motors are jus toasted??

the power to both windows passes through the driver's door switch first. if the switch has totally failed neither will work. but the only way to verify is to take the door panels off and put power manually to the motors and see if they work

I'm with cam. Sounds like a bad master switch.

Are these known for it?

What should I look for when going to the JY for a different switch? (Aside from the obvious-burned melted, missing buttons LOL)

Would some contact grease help you think?

just buy a new switch from a parts house. not worth the hassle of getting a second bad one

Your such a sweetheart for not leaving the chickypoo high and dry, LOL. Seriously though check your relays for the power windows and double check the motors like said above.

Those particular switches aren't known for going bad any more than any other window switch, that is just the only think that is likely to fail and take out both windows at the same time.
