I'm in the prosess of shaving & cleaning up my truck getting ready to paint it in the near future. What I need to know is what do I do with the seam on the roof above the back side window? It's a supercab , see pic. Do I fill it with body filler? If so what kind? Weld it up? Seems like alot of heat. Cut it out and weld in new? If so that may be beond my abillitys right now. I realy don't want to use lead, if that's even an option.

Thanks
Pat

cut a piece of sheetmetal to fit the gap, and weld it in, don't cut anything out. Don't weld continuously either, just tacks here and there, doing it SLOWLY so that it doesn't heat up too much.

the quick and dirty way would be to take the piece of plastic out and use a product called Gorilla Hair. It's a high strength body filler that can be used on pieces like this. You can then finish it up and blend it in with a skim coat of regular bondo. This won't last forever, but it will last about 15 years of daily driver use, and to many that's long enough.
