will they fix this? mine dont seem to look too awfully bad, they are a little cracked up. notice the grill guard in comparison to the hood

The bumper on the right side looks really smashed upwards looking at the parking light compared to the other side. Does that grill guard mount to the bumper bracket? I don't think body mounts will fix that.

its not smashed, thats the body flexing on the frame, im not sure how much its supposed to flex but that looks like alot lol. look at the front body mounts under the rad support, on my truck they rotted right out, i mean the mount itself was fine but the hole for the bolt rusted to the size of the bushing which allowed it to flex right through the hole. i couldnt even tell it was like that until i took the bushing and body lift off. rust is a sneaky bastard.

maybe, maybe not... but i know that it does help a lot and gives a lil lift over wore out stock ones... not much. but hey a 1/2 inch is a 1/2 of bigger tires! lol

i think that's just the way the body and frame flexes, mine does it to, i've flexed my truck and the bumper has hit the paint...

bumper and grill guard is flat when rig is not flexing. the body mounts seem really soft and cracked up, the part under the frame mount seems dry rotted

it couldn't hurt to change them... i know i'm going to.

if they are oem, definitely wont hurt to change them.

it will help a little, but soft springs and a cage will solve it.




my rig twists up like a pretzel. many of the jeep guys i run with are shocked it can still be driven on the road.

i've been told thicker bumpers help to...

but this flex is why the places the roof is welded on at cracks..... i had to reweld the joints on mine.

thats why i prefer rubber mount and run them "loose".


if my truck was bolted tight it would have murdered the cab 10 years ago.

maybe ill take a piece of 2x2 steel and weld it across the fron of the frame as a brace when i go to replace the body bushings

idk if you want it rigid... it may cause other problems.. something has to flex sometimes.

same reason a semi doesn't run a boxed frame, its to rigid and would break

not in this case. well not totally. the stiffer chassis would allow for softer suspension in one potential with better control.


i dont think a single brace will affect anything in 2x2 flavor in the front.

i have some serious beef to the front section of my chassis due to suspension and the diesel. unfortunately, the unsprung situation i have is atrocious due to the chassis needing more support from the door pillars back. its a non issue on tractive road surfaces with 33 in tires, but the 37's and dana 60 and full weight brakes bring out the walk in ice conditions.
