Body lift removal

Hello, so I'm considering removing the 3" body lift on my 2010 Ford ranger sport but have never done it. After looking, there's some that say LMC trucking has the proper mounting hardware. How true is this? And is it somewhat feasible for one person to do it?

Definitely can be done with one person. Just watch to make sure you don't pinch any wires or hoses. With a 3" body lift, there may be an extension in your intermediate steering shaft. Be sure to remove that before lowering the body.

LMC should have the correct hardware.

i like the body lift especially when the inevitable transmission work comes.

So I checked my ranger and spotted like 16 pucks that lift the body. The issue is that most kits like the one below from rock auto only come with like 6 bolts. Seeing that I'm the second owner and never got the stock bolts when I purchased it where do I find all the necessary hardware? Or am I missing something?

can you take a pic looking over a rear tire looking at the frame & bottom edge of the bed?
looking directly over a rear tire you should see a frame cross member. there may, or may not, be a lifting puck there.

In your picture, there are 12 bushing pieces. 6 upper and 6 lower. These are for the 6 cab mounts.

For additional hardware, I usually go to an industrial fastener supplier in town. They have hardware that you won't find at a home store or auto parts store. On my 3rd gen, the bolts were M12 threads. I didn't record the lengths. But you can measure and figure that out. You want metric grade 10.9 or higher.

This may or may not be helpful. I focused mainly on removal of the old hardware, since that is usually the difficult part. You can skip through it and see some of the assembly near the end.

That’s because the only bushings are on the cab. The 6 lift pucks for the bed have no bushings so you don’t get bolts for that in a bushing set. You need a set of regular bed bolts, probably easiest to just buy a set of replacement bed bolts and clips, you may need the clips now or sometime down the road.

Oh ok that makes sense. Sorry I don't have a garage and after work it's dark so I try to do research online. Thanks for the input. So I'll need a body mount kit and bed bolts. I think I was assuming the body mount bolts would include bed bolts.

Yeah, I get where you’re coming from but no, for whatever reason they like to sell body lifts with all the pucks and bolts and body mounts with just the cab stuff so you have to buy bed bolts separately. I’ve done a few of both so I’ve learned.
