Blown head gasket?

I think I have a blown head gasket. I have been having overheating problems and noticed one or two bubbles on my oil dipstick. Cant really tell if I am loosing coolant since I have been flushing it and draining it to change radiator and t-stat. My question is how much psi should I have when doing a compression test. Also how do I preform a compression test? Should I try the uv test thing?

for a blown head gasket is to fill the system with coolant and drive around a bit.. If the radiator doesn't puke it's coolant out and over heat your gasket is ok. Doing a pressure test on the cylinders will only show you the WORST gasket failure. One which you would already know about from the puking and overheating.

Don't be ashamed. We're all here to help each other. Hell, i'm buying a ranger with a 4.0 on monday. Either the heads cracked or the head gaskets blown.

OK I got an after market metal fan because I hated having the plastic one crack, but installed it backwards.

Yay no more overheating. So I guess I didn't have a blown head gasket.

I see, so instead of pulling air it was pushing? Mistakes happen, it's no biggy.
