Blower fan resister 98 Ranger

Is there any reason that the resister can't be relocated, because they don't seem to last long in the blower box.

Ihe resistor is in that location so it has air flowing over it to cool it. If you are having them fail often you should check the blower motor, the bearings might be tight causing it to pull excess current. also check the connector, if they are loose it will also cause heat build up.
