Big Block Drift Truck - Pic Heavy

The super stock mopars (hemi Cuda and Dart) from the 60s used seat belt material. I’d use the stock window channels, plexiglass windows, and the original seat belts. (I assume you’re swapping them out for harnesses.)

Im probably going to do something similar to that. Really want to be able to drive in the rain and not get soaked. I thought about just riveting the Texan in place and adding a siding section but it would be hard to prevent the plastic from getting scratch in that area

Well my stock bed size rule didn't last to long. after seeing photos and videos of this new Slate compact truck decided to shorten the bed 1 foot to bring the taillights closer to the rear wheels. and after staring at the under side of the bed i dont think it should be that difficult

cutting 1 foot off the frame and adding a brace.

Here is the look im going for. If it doesnt look good ill just get another bed. this one is rusted out towards the front anyway.

Not to nitpick your excellent work but.... Your pinion angle is god awful 😋

Personally.. I hope your happy with the bed once it's done. Big block slideways ranger is cool already but.. big block stubby slideways ranger would be way cooler.

A shim or two will fix that right up.

Finished roughing out the bed. still have to get the twp pieces welded together but you can get an idea of the look. The stance ist not perfect, i have to wait until i get the wheels and tires to get the right ride height

Tell me what you think

I think it’s awesome. Also I think there should be more bed behind the rear wheels, but doubt you can see that from the driver seat sideways.

Looks good, certainly good enough for something that's gonna meet a few walls lol.

..You should build one of them drifty tube bumpers that wraps around for a little extra body protection

Something kinda like this.. but... More drifty. Painted some real loud color naturally

IMO I wouldn't do lexan side windows in case you need to get out fast because of a fire and you have issues with a door mechanism, or need to weld the doors up

I had a lexan windshield for my buggy and have brackets to do one for my jeep, that'll keep the majority of the rain out so long as you're not leaving it out in the weather

finished painting the bed sides
