Did you regear for the taller tires?

The A4LD can be problematic. Can also be awesome if slightly modded. Any shop capable of a rebuild should be able to do the mods too.

If you're looking for something cheaper DIY that model is pretty easy to manual swap as well.

To answer your question though, Around here I'd expect that to list at ~$1500 with the bad transmission. Which sadly is about the cost of the lift kit...

How much is it going to cost to get the transmission worked on and how much is it going to cost to buy a replacement vehicle? Especially if it is a used vehicle that has undisclosed issues that you are going to have to deal with?

In my experience, most of the time, a vehicle is getting sold or traded off because it has something going on with it that someone doesn't want to deal with.

As far as the question asked, I agree that $1,500 is going to be about a good place to start.
