i have a 00 ford ranger single cab 4X2 2.5l 5 speed. i need somthing better looking than the oem rubber shifter boot whether it be aftermarket or oem and rubber boots are preferred although could settle for leather or some other material. any suggestions?

maybe those universal fit boots on auto stores, if not custom made-leather, thats what i would go if i replace mine

welcome to TRS by the way

hmm, i havent think of it that way, now i dont wanna shift!!

dude we have the same truck!!2.5 sport 5spd, what color is yours?? mines white

wonder what agirl would do if she read that... :icon_rofl: Ewwwwwwwwww gonna wash my hands now!

I really don't have a problem with mine it cleans up real easy with each stroke but the handle pops off all the time...? :icon_twisted:

yeah its easy to clean, and reduces the transmission noise, for the knob, maybe its broken, mine was broken, but i replaced it with the mustang gt 05 shift knob, and matches really nice, even that i had to cut the shifter 1" and enlarge the knobs hole, but totally worth it!
better shifter boot

How about switching to either an FX4 Shifter or a Hurst Shifter both use a small boot setup.
If you are lucky enough to get the FX4 setup (from the JY or new) then get the Boot, the floor boot-ring, the stick and the Shift-Knob too.
The Hurst Shifter comes with a boot, I used it, but I think there has to be something better out there for it too.

Luck,

the FX4 shifter is the best ford could do for rangers

sweet ill chek rock auto or somthing for it thanx for all the input! =)
