My son's 94 ranger needs new springs, 2 middle leafs broken. I tried to take the nuts off the bolts that hold the springs to the braket at front and shackle at rear with little success. Even if I get the nuts off, I don't see a way to pound the bolt off.
Will a saws-all blade cut the bolts off at both sides? Will a zip cut grinder blade fit in between the bracket and spring to cut the bolts off. Or is the only way going to be grinding the heads off the rivets holding the spring brakets to the frame (I shudder at that thought, how do I get in)
I have a cutting torch but am reluctant to use it given the gas tank near the front driver side spring.
Your experiences here please. thanks.
