Best water temp. for the 2.9L

What is the best operating temps. range for the 2.9L?
Also, where does the stock gauge read on yours?

I think stock the thermostat is 195 degrees,that is best for the best gas mileage and to keep sludge from building in the engine.

After I power-washed my radiator, my temp gauge is maybe 1/4 from the bottom. Before, it was 1/4 from the top.

my stock temp guage didnt read accuratly on my 86 2.9 or my 84 2.8. so i went to advance and got a mechanical guage.
