Hello my car has been shredding belts. Last week it split one in half and wrapped it around the fan… I replaced the belt tensioner pulley but this belt is already getting ripped. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check all the other pulleys and components. Is the idler pulley ok? Is the alternator mounted tightly and bearings good? How about the AC clutch pulley? It the water pump ok?

Take the belt completely off. Check each component and make sure the pulleys don't wobble (sign of a bad bearing or loose mounting bolts), squeak (bad bearings) or bind (again, bad bearings). Rotate each pulley and feel for roughness or binding. Shake them up and down, side to side and in and out to check for play and bad bearings.
