You have his work? Call his boss! They might not want a thief working for them, and you can legally fire somebody for that.

i hope this turns into a charlie wenzel. the scammer posted up on tacoma world saying essentially "**** you all, thanks for your money, i just bought a new long travel suspension kit for my truck with it." i think it's time to get the boys of pirate 4x4 involved with this.

Someone already mentioned getting PayPal involved. Do you have a phone number (sounds like you were texting)? Google the phone number and see if anything comes up (or better yet post the number here and then this thread will come up in the future when the number is searched)

Pfff. IPs are like phone numbers, one call to the service provider and it's different.

You need the MAC address of his modem. That's like a street address. Can't change it without buying a new one.

Regardless, if he's running the same IP address with multiple names on one website, I'm willing to bet he'd be using the same on other websites.

Oh, I agree. I was just pointing out that if he is smart enough to run this kind of scam, he may be smart enough to get his IP changed eventually, or even periodically, to avoid such preemptive measures. If you can get his IP it's possible to get his MAC, but you gotta have the right stuff, which I don't anymore.

Well it turns out that he was using the same IP for all of his accounts on DR, after he moved on from there he would switch IPs every time he logged in or created a new account so he became more difficult to track. But since he fcuked up on DR, they were able to get an street address for that IP address. Which is all fine and good except there's no proof that this person is even the right person.
