Baja Claws ? for what purpose ?

I wouldn't recommend BFGs to guys who take them offroad, every time out I developed bead leaks on my Mts. I air down to 20 (very moderate) mud would always cause them to leak in the bead. Great on street and for guys who don't air down but honestly not the greatest offroad tire. As far as sidewall strenght BFGs aren't known for that either.

Ok, yeah im sure they suck in the mud since pretty much every hardcore mud bogger uses them...

Ive been stuck in the mudd with them as well, im just glad that it wasnt my truck =P

They're great for normal and thick mud, but if its thin and watery you might as well be riding through a pond, your not going to get anywhere.

I've heard from a few guys who have used Baja Claws, and the Procomp X-terrain, and they said they weren't impressed. I guess due to the the lack of tread running parallel to tire, they let you slip sideways in off-camber situations and can make it difficult to climb out of/cross ruts with.

I run the MT's on the street instead of the BOGGERs, but I have to disagree with you on the strength of the MT's.......

In this picture I was aired down to 18psi and beat the crap out of the sidewalls(this was the second weekend on the same trail), and haven't had any problems at all. I like my BOGGERs better, but for a little better mannered tires I will use the BFG MT's. Not trying to start a war, so each to their own I guess.........

I'm talking about the TrXus "STS" Super Swampers

It says right in the Interco ad for these tires "These tires are not intended to be a substitute for the super swamper or bogger tires, but a tire for you if spend alot of time on the street or sand" correct me if I'm wrong, but were the words "great in mud" anywhere in that phrase?

Baja Claws

I plugged that hole in the sidewall with 2 cord style plugs 6 years ago and has never lost pressure, however, when I bought the tires one has a 2" rock cut in the tread where the tread meets the sidewall and has been OK all this time.
On my last run into the Pine Nut mountains that cut grew to 12" and I'm now looking for a replacement. These tires are great, run them at 8 PSI and they go anywhere and in comfort.:icon_thumby:

There comes a time in every mans life (or woman or child) when they have to know their limitation. If you push anything beyond its design limitations expect failure and dissapointment.

Your going to have to pick one or two things you want out of a tire and spend the money.

The second one is my favorite. I've read the entire 33 tire arcticle. I went with treadwrights....
