Hi, guys so last night I changed all my radiator hose, replaced the thermostat, and cleaned the engine with that spray shit. Now I can start it up have it run for about 5 minutes then it will run really rough and die. I can restart it but it still runs rough then dies. Before I go tearing out my distributor I wanna just check with you guys. Do you think its a bad TFI module or something else?

Probably not the TFI - In my experience, when they fail you cannot start the engine; they fail suddenly, sometimes when the engine is running, sometimes after you shut it off..

Not much help here, but it is something controlling you computer. Check, then double check all fittings. I've used the spray can and hose method with good results so I suspect that you accidentally disconnected a vac hose or damaged a fitting.

I took it down to the parts store and they said it was bad so hopefully its that.

Make sure all your connections are good, I had one bad connection that screwed with me for a month before I found it.
Good luck,

Richard

I checked to see if I'm getting power to the coil. I was but I wasn't getting a spark out of it. I was getting 11.71 volts at the positive side. Replaced the coil still no spark. I wonder if some how that wire from the coil to the distributor is bad. Going to buy new spark plugs and wires tomorrow and see what happens. Any ideas would help at this point.

Did you pull codes? Instructions are on this site.

A manual is a good investment; repair by random part replacement is expensive.

the same thing happened to my 84 ranger it was a compination of a bad tfi and a bad resister box ( the litle silver box on the driversside fender just above the coil)good luck
