b2 auto trans

hey everyone, i just picked up a 87 b2, 2.9l 4x4 with a auto trans it it, what trans dose it have??
are they any good for hard 4x4 and wheeling or should i swich to the 5 speed??

A4LD (About 4 Long Drives). Only good for moving your truck around before you do a 5 speed swap.

An '87 would have the A4LD, which will not last long if the truck is driven hard. You're ahead in the game if you're already thinking of swapping in a manual.

Good advice on going to stick. Took me three A4LD's before I learned that one. Be sure to check out the 10" clutch upgrade in the tech section since you will have to buy most of the parts anyways for a swap to stick; why put in an 8 7/8" clutch when you could have the 10" for about the same price?

well... i am going to dump the auto and put in the 5 speed with the 10" clutch since i already have everything for it.

i thought the auto was a POS, have send many in the b2 hence the reson i asked.
