I am curious if someone can tell me the technical and practical differences of skyjacker parts CHBE30 CHB35 and CHB352. I know that the first is the cheapest and upon talking to the guy at skyjacker he said that the first two were exactly the same in design but marketed differently. So that leaves the last one that uses a connector plate to connect the two brackets. Just wondering if it is much stronger.

Also my goal is to upgrade from the rancho pivot brackets I have now. I dont want to reinforce mine to make them stronger because I dont have the skills or resources. Basically wondering if I get the CHBE30... will solve my weak link.

Get the ClassII brackets (CHB352 sounds like the # I recall for them). There's no "connector plate" between them though, although it does have a small support piece that's used at the top of the bracket for the driverside axlebeam (I don't see it adding much strength though, the main bracket alone is massive enough already).

Past SJ bracket designs were their "Heavy-Duty" ones (has the same cast bracket for the P-side axle, but the one for the D-side axle is more akin to a Tuff Country or Superlift bracket), and their "Economy" brackets (used the dreaded drop-plate).
IIRC they discontinued both of these, and now simply include the monstrous Class II pivots in ALL the RBV kits they sell.
 
Ok so I understand what you just said. But does that mean that the one that I was looking at for 180 thats there class one is like a tuff country but there 300 dollar one is the only better option. I am just a little confused when you started to reference their past designs.
 
get the class II bracket , thats what comes with all there lifts now.
 
CHB35 IIRC was the old Class 1 design brackets, yes (not sure what CHBE30 was, maybe the Econo ones?).
 
junkie, maybe you know the number off the top of your head on these skyjacker brackets.......maybe help someone in the future for ref.

those are the class II I believe especially if they came with that class II lift. See that little piece that has the three holes in it in the middel of the big pic. I think that also goes along with it. Not sure though (thats why I started the thread). Regardless to buy it by itself costs close to $300. And when I talked to the guy at skyjacker (which he sounded like a moron). He basically told me the difference between the one I was looking at for 180 was the same as that class two but without that extra support piece. He basically admitted it was all marketing and that he really didnt know how each of them were priced differently

Basically I am gonna call back again Monday and check one more time. Basically if I have to spend 300 bucks I will just try and con my friends to reinforce my rancho brackets.
 
Yes, that's the Class II stuff for sure.

Ask them if the main bracket itself is the exact same one that mounts to the frame with 8 bolts, if so, then I'd just get those then (like I mentioned above, that little support piece I can't see offering much to a bracket that's already pure beef).

Just make sure the bracket isn't the older narrow design like this one

So third time's a charm. I found out this info

CHBE30 - Discontinued as of 3/1/08 and is a plate style 4" bracket
CHB35 - Class II bracketry for 4" or 6" drop
CHB352 - Discontinued as of 3/1/08 and is class II bracket with additional plate that doesnt do much
CHBE36 - Discontinued as of 3/1/08 and was the economy 6" drop

So basically there one style took over the job that 4 used to do. They are just marketing the one for all rbvs and both 4 and 6 inches. I spoke to a guy named Chris and he set me straight (versus the other two nimrods at skyjacker) the number is 866-759-5225 ext 3015
