Only because you refuse to accept that the 3.0 is a far superior engine to the 2.9. You know what they say... Pride cometh before a fall.

And design the 3rd Gen hemi.

Look, the guy who spent the most time and effort modifying these engines gave up... that’s how I see it!

He basically said... this 2.9l engine sucks almost as bad as the 3.0, I’m going to build my own design for Chrysler.

Also, I think it's why I like the SOHC. The more I drive it, the more things I find in common with the 6.4 mopar and 2.9 on both sides. Still a rattly, studdering cologne, but the cam profile and torque band feels identical to the 6.4, but there's just much less of it.

Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind.

1. It has a Dodge/Ram badge on the front.
2. Their drivetrains are unreliable as heck
3. I think they might rust out worse than Fords do. I didn't think that was possible but after paying attention to what friends have and some other trucks, I think they might actually are worse than Fords.

It’s a Dodge.
215k miles, seized caliper, rotted bed sides, it’s a Dodge, gas tank straps rotted away/ tank held up with ratchet straps, it’s a Dodge, bottom of the doors rotted, rear bumper rotted, and it’s a Dodge.
