Automatic vs. Manual lock outs.

there is no such thing as a good set of auto hubs

i'm no gonna argue my point anymore :thefinger::icon_rofl:
for basic stuff, if the hubs aint worn.. they'll hold up. i've used my 4wd a lot and never hurt a hub.. (except when beating on it, my fault... lol). so... depending on the OP's plans for the rig, and what they already have... the auto's may be fine. :thefinger::thefinger:

They are so stupid easy to change that if they don't bother you I wouldn't worry about it. There is nothing "while you are there" about them.

Blatantly false.

I had autos for 3 years on my truck and never had a problem with them wheeling or going to the snow. I didn't baby them either. When I switched them out there was nothing wrong with em so I sold them to another member. When I stepped up to 33's I sold them for manuals (cheap insurance).

Exactly. Don't just blow money cuz you can. Wait till they grenade.

If your current ones aren't acting up I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you all for the info and conversation here. I'll just keep the autos until they fail. I was just making sure they didn't do something stupid like throw the alignment off, after I would just get aligned.

just an FYI, i beat on my b2 pretty hard in high school, i never had a problem with the hubs. it was the electric t-case that started wanting to not engage
