How does Autofab bend cast ranger beams and use them on prerunners and stuff? Wouldn't that make them more prone to break?

So could I bend cast beams if I didn't heat them up? Not for any more than 4" of lift, maybe less.

you just going to bend em by hand? lol.

going to take a hell of a bender to do that cold.

So my 12ton HF shop press won't do the job?:D So cold bending cast beams is ok right? How big of a press would I need? Like 75ish ton? Sorry for all the noobish questions. I appreciate all of your help.

NONONONONONONONO!!!! Buy the correct crap for your rig!!! Go to a truck shop and ask them for help, just don't do stupid stuff on your own!!!! You want to kill yourself or somebody else?? Geese, Gosh!!!

All I want to know is, can I bend cast beams safely? There must be a way, or else Autofab would be sued left and right. If not, I can always go to the pick and pay and grab a set of forged beams.

heard you can bend them using bottle jack and strapping the beam to the frame idk the exact process but they hold up ok im running stock cast beams and only folded a beam once when the rubber bump stop blew off and hit metal to metal now that im running air bumps havent bent one yet and ive beat the piss out of it

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think at this point, I will just go with forged beams. It is worth it for safety and peace of mind. Again, thanks.

I am sure they heat them up and bend both styles, wouldn't surprise:icon_rofl: me.

Sorry for starting up my old thread, but I had a quick question (or two) about bending forged beams:D Does it matter where in the beam I bend them? And if I heat them up with a torch, could I bend them with my 12ton HF press?

In case people were still wondering about Autofab and Camburg bending cast beams....

Oh and about that comment when I asked about how large of a press I would need to bend cast beams cold, I was basing it off of Autofab saying that they have a 100 ton press that they bend beams with. I was thinking that they were bending them cold:D
