ok so i had a sony xplod 600w amp running my 2 pioneer 10'' subs. well i was offered an audibahn 12'' sub and an alpine 800w amp. well i went and built the box. spent 60$ on that. went to hook it all up, and no matter how i hooked up the speakers, the amp went into protect mode. so i turned the gains all the way down, tried the lp, hp and off settings. tried the 0 hz, 15 hz and 30 hz settings. finally got it to stay on, and as soon as i touched the gains, it shut off.
so i figured the amp was being over drawn, so just to see, i tried it on my pioneer subs. it was fine. ok
now i wanted to try the audiobahn sub on the xlod amp, no go, so i went back to my orginal setup up, xplod amp and pioneer subs. now with everything setup the way i had it, now the sony is going into protect mode. when i got it to stay on, it would just whine, or buzz. but when i turned the music up, it was ok. untill i started the engine. it sounds like its picking up the alternator whine, but the rca's and power wire are no where near eachother. so i think the audiobahn screwed both my amps.
this is for alpine
and this is for audiobahn
i will never ever buy either of these pieces of crap again. and will remain a pioneer man.
