atv winch

ok so i got a atv winch about a year ago it has a 2000 lbs pulling capasity i was wanting to make a hanger for skinning my animals now what i wanna do is have the winch mounted under my b2 in the back and instal a tow hitch to mount the hanger and have pulleys on the corners so i can run the cable to the top now im having a problem figuring out how to mount the winch under the truck cause of the gas tank being right there does anyone have any ideas how i should go about mounting it

The winch is light enough, use something [d-ring?] to attach it to the tow hitch receiver. Or make the winch attachment part of the hanging assembly that goes into the receiver.

i like the idea of that but i would really like the winch pemanantly installed cause even tho it only weighs 15 pounds i dont wanna add that weight to the hoist plus if im draging it out and i get to a hill next to the road i could just back up to it and winch it up the hill then.

i think you're going to have to go with something removeable... maybe have a mounting location on the tower thing, so you slide the rig onto the truck, then you put the winch on, so that extra 15 lbs is separate... other than that, i think what Richard posted is going to be the way to go...

unless you solid mount it to the bumper or something, but it would have to be reinforced...

richard now that i see a picture i like the way that is but the problem with my winch is that the holes that u use to bolt it down are right under the spool on the front and back so i could hook d rings to it but it wouldnt be able to release nor retract the cable once hooked up so maybe i will have to bolt it to the thing after all damn that sucks but oh well- now thats solved i was wondering since it will be holding alot of weight with me being an elk hunter to that i really dont want to get one made and then it break first try so what do u guys think would be enough to hold up to atleast 1000 pounds?

personally I'd mount it inside a rear bumper with the roller fairlead above the hitch, that way you can use pulleys to get the cable up where you need it easily. I'm sure if you drink a few beers you'll come up with something.

With the stock rear bumper it might be hard to do... Idk. Just take the winch out to the truck, find a place it'll fit... Make a mount to mount it on.

Personally why not make a front bumper with 8k winch and add a front receiver and that way you have a capable winch to pull you out if needed, and you can still use it to pull a carcass or lift it on a hitch mounted lift bar deal

cause it would cost to much to get an 8k winch i mean i really want to but right now my boss has only paid me 500 and that went to gas and house payment and he still owes me 1500 and untill i get that im stuck in the planning

will the winch you have fit into the pocket where the license plate is? mount the winch there and relocate the plate
