I've seen winches that were from different 'manufacturers' that had remotes with the same plugs on them. I'm wondering what might actually interchange.

I need everyone who has a winch to take a picture of the plug on their winch remote and post it along with the make and model of the winch. It should be clear enough that we can see the 'connections' in the plug.

It will be interesting to see if anyone posts up a remote that matches another winch.

Thanks! :headbang:

Both are the same type plug but one has 3 prongs, the other 5.
Both controllers are the exact same one-piece rubber units with the metal toggle (momentary up/down, center off)

Here's my contributions:

This one is for my Warn XD9000i. The 'A' notes a raised key in the inside of the plug.

This is for my Mile Marker E9000. The 'A' notes a raised key on the outside of the plug.

This picture is for the remote on my Mile Marker SE12000. The 'A' notes a raised key on the outside of the plug. The 'B' notes a groove on the inside of the plug. The is a second groove directly above that one.

Can anyone post a pic of the remote plug on a Smittybilt winch?

I have a 9500LB Champion and the plug and the controller are identical to CheapThrills 8000LB.

Even if the plugs are the same, it doesn't mean the manufacturer used the pins the same for every winch. It would be best to probe the remote end with a circuit tester to see what the buttons do before plugging in a different controller.
