My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
While walking around the neighborhood for exercise, I spotted a nice looking white Ranger. Well, this morning I happened to meet Dave, the owner. He's replacing the carpet. I also pointed out that he needed to clean the positive battery terminal and plan on a new cable soon. Had a nice chat with him. Gave him one of my cards with a QR Code linking to TRS. This evening, as I walked by he was finally lifting the old carpet out. The floorpans look great. He said the truck came from California recently (2012ish?). It's a great example of a gen 3. 96, RWD supercab, 3 0l, auto still rocking the deer hoof wheels. They looked small. Might be 14". Maybe we'll get a new member.

Nice!

Yeah, the “Deer Hoof” alloys came in 14” and 15”, one of the two, I think the 15”, had two small holes between each ”hoof print”. I have a set of the 15” around here somewhere.

The 93 and 94 had the two holes between the prints along with the small center cap that showed the lugnuts. 95 and up were smooth and had the hubcap style centercap that clipped to the lugnuts. also I think the 14 inch went on RWD and 15 inch went on 4WD

I've never seen a 4wd with 14 inch wheels even in the 1st gens. I don't think they'd clear the front brakes. Even the D28 wouldn't clear the Jeep 15s I had. The inside of the wheel just grabbed the tip of the bleeder when things flexed on turns. (I wouldn't have thought things would flex that much, but mine did. Maybe loose bearings?)

I had a set of 14” that I got from a ‘96 2wd, and would not fit on my ‘96 4wd. Front brakes were too big.

My 4x4 came with the 15" version. But I sold them years ago.
