You must be tired or i must be drunk. I have no idea what you're saying...

Yes they are. You for the most part drive it like a regular truck but there are some odd/ backwards things that if you dont know your hosed. Over rotation being one and foreward undercutting another... dry steer even with modded pump ect forget it you will mess things up. I have alot of time running them so i know alot of tricks. This rig should do about 45 mph on groomed stuff, sure you can go faster but do you really want to.

Can you explain what some of those terms (dry steer, forward undercutting, over rotation) mean? :dntknw:

I'm gonna guess;
dry steer= to much traction on dry hard surface causing the pump to over heat?
forward undercutting=like on a river bank-where you under cut the surface instead of riding on top?
over rotation=?

Dry steer is trying to turn without moving, its ok in ice but hard on steering components on other surfaces. Undercutting is like when you come up to a log or ledge and the front or rear of the tracks try to go under rather than over. Over rotation usually occurrs if you say are going up a huge snow bank and dont make it and spin the tracks into a hole, When trying to back out the leading end is blocked and the whole track will try to turn 360 degrees. They have a torsion rubber bushing shaft that allows so much rotation but forcing it beyond will screw em up. I will take pics of that part for you.

You don't have to try to flip the tracks off just for our sake. :icon_thumby:

I would suppose the camber changes of a wheeled suspension plays havoc with trying to back up too? (when the tire leans with the bottom kicked against the turn for more traction)

I have heard tracked tractors ride really rough compared to a comparable wheeled one too... which makes sense because aside from the tires all you have for a suspension is under the seat. :icon_bounceblue:

For the most part camber is not an issue if you use these as intended for snow and mud, its senceless to run $35,000+ tracks on a hard surface.

I didn't know if it would be trying to force crap in the tracks and/or peel them off having the leading edge down with most of the weight on it.

People don't run dozers on hard survace all that often either, with some age they can turn out of their tracks.

Never been around Mattracks at all, just wondered if it is a problem :icon_thumby:

I never realized how expensive these things are! At the end of the day you paid more money for tires than most people spend on a whole truck.

To each his own....

Little update on this thing, Got too many irons in the fire to get after it.
