LOL Thats awesome ! I'd Sport One ! Ive been revving the nutz off my rig to keep it in a happy rpm range,Ford should have givin it some more ballz for being a midsize V6.Oh yeah I had to replace my fuel filler neck due to emissions testing here in Ca and well also cause I was spilling fuel when I parked on any kind of incline LOL I will get some pics up of the wasted part soon..........

After reading this, I now am considering a 3.0 powered truck. Cool. How's the gas mileage on this engine I wonder? On a good week, I can get 17 mpg with my 4.0 but this is the winter time and fuel economy usually sucks in the winter.

we're the select few that love the 3.0, and we will fight for it til the end of time

best damn engine in a stock ranger, period:thefinger:, but I would sooo take a V8 over my 3.0:icon_thumby:

Gas mileage isnt much better, I consistently get 18 mpgs, mostly city but still sucks...

My best ever gas mileage was 24 mpg on a highway trip. well, 23.6, i round it up cuz it sounds better :thefinger:

the reason why the mpg's are bad on 3.0's are he fact that you have to push them hard to get the to go anywhere, think around it, and this engine comes from a taurus they get pretty good mpg, a taurus weights less then a ranger, soyou have a engine for a lighter CAR running a truck, thats why the mpg are bad

eventhough, I love this engine

MIne isnt doing too bad but ive been driving it in town.... Its surely gutless though... My buddy has a 96 Ranger ex cab that has a 3.0 and it doesn't do too bad in the power dept.Makes me wonder if mine needs some sort of ignition parts.... ive had the truck for about a month or so and its still on a half a tank but I dont drive it everyday.... Im averaging about 16-17mpg in town......

Interesting numbers. Oh well. I was hoping for slightly better numbers. I guess I will keep my 4.0 for now and have more power and the same gas mileage for now. :D

the throttle cable thing sounds silly, but i did it and it does make a difference. my 3.0 works great, i havent had any issues with power, it gets up to 80-100km pretty quick, and it spins like a sunofa- in 1st and 2nd gear. no complaints from me. I'm averaging 100km's to 10-12 litres of fuel. not sure what that is in MPG, but i don't drive easily. I've had my b3000 since April 2nd and I'm on my 3rd set of back tires.

OMG I am going to try that...My truck needs it,among other cooling gremlins and gauge problems,Ive never had this many issues with a truck before in such a short time
