Are E3 plugs really that good?

are they worth the extra cash? and do they really bump your hp and mpgs? i very very highly doubted it but it would be nice to know from people who have experience with them

All plugs are pretty much hte same, you get either one big spark or a couple smaller ones with split designs. Basic platinum plugs are all you need for stock application.

autolites x 10 They have a good inexpensive platinum plug. They are also the factory plug. But PAY ATTENTION!!!!!!!!! The specs that the parts store will give you and the specs that trs have and hte specs that haynes manuals have are all different for gapping your plug, and they are way off when you get them from the store, I gapped mine based off TRS specs.

I would get Autolights... best plugs I have run, anything else just doesn't feel the same... Also i gapped mine in accord with what the sticker under my hood said.

Use Motorcraft's or Autolite's. I use to have the Bosch Plats. Nothing wrong with them. Just that I didn't know it at the time, that engine rattle I had under full load at highway speed was engine knock. Good thing I didn't do a whole lot of traveling. Replaced the plugs with Motorcraft's Platium finewire tips and the engine rattle went away. Power, mpg, throttle response, all remained the same.

I love the E3 plugs.....

In my lawn tractor that is. I was a little skeptical when I tried them in the lawn tractor but it did make a difference in that sort of application. But those are also air-cooled with a good bit of slop built into them compared to a truck. Plus they are carb'd.

Everyone I've talked to has said they're worthless in cars/trucks though.

i've never had good luck with any of the dual or more point plugs...

i use motorcraft copper's i think... the OEM, what the EX calls for...

The old split fires worked great in a 1656 evinrude outboard at 24 to 1 oil mix but you cant get them anymore anything more than a single platinum autolite or motorcraft is money in someone elses pocket. In my opinion cheap plugs and change them regular I have never had a autolite platinum fail so far. Ever since they started coming out I change them once a year just before winter sets in. Plug wires every other year and recently replace the PCV and breather filter with plugs.

i put a set of e3's in my explorer about 50,000 miles ago (when it hit 100,000 miles). absolutely no noticeable difference in power or economy.
