We have a DR appt in oklahoma city on the 9th so ill take it by there then.

As long as you registered the AppleCare you should be fine. You can call AppleCare at 1-800-APL-CARE and give them your serial number to double check coverage. They can also swap it out but it will take a week or so between sending in yours and them shipping a replacement to you.

Make sure you back up your phone first and import any photos before sending it in or visiting the store. They cannot backup your data for you at the store. How do I know this? This is what I do for a living...

Apple now offers AppleCare+ on the new phones and it will cover 2 incidents of Accidental Damage with an out of pocket cost of $49 each time. Well worth the $99 cost.
