Apparently what I "wanted" to do tonight was...

8' of railroad iron certainly isn't light. But, anything that would hit it, well they better hope they have airbags. lol

i had found out after my mailbox was installed and later uninstalled that yes, you are not supposed to use reinforced mail box posts. oh well, you are not supposed to put traps in the backyard but people kept hoping my fence to short cut going to the end of the road.... some boards with nails stuck through put under leaves has stopped that practice too
A horse electric fence wire run along the top of the fence, however, is perfectly legal, and quite shockingly effective I understand

How does the mail man feel about that.
I don’t have such a thing yet, but it’s crossed my mind. Could always skip it over the gate, I’d hope they don’t fence hop

I didn't have the energy to go super fancy, especially on a monday night... I'd been in the house for 8 years now, yesterday was the third time I've mounted the mailbox, first time was when I first moved in (I didn't mount it very good, I think I screwed a 2x6 in on the end grain of the 4x4, maybe added a 2x4 gusset or something...), then one of the wife's friends somehow ran into it and knocked it off (I'm not sure how she got there, basically had a tire in the ditch, I have a circular driveway...) which was better, now this time it's more secure on the post...

I'll make something fancier one of these days but I don't want it to be a pain to mow around or anything, one of these days I want to put a culvert in the ditch and be done with it, it's only 20' long...

I can't believe you're the only one to get that reference so far!

I was gonna ask, but then ,I didn't care. I'll probably not watch it or have seen it and it just didn't stick.

As much in the ground as above it. Been there at least 50 years. "Fat lightered" pine heart wood. The actual tree it came from was probably 48" or so, but that was long before my time. My grandfather put it there.

It's worth it just to see the cars. Alot of badass old American muscle cars and trucks, and a vw beetle. Lots of scenes.

There’s also BroncoII in it… but you’re not supposed to notice it way in the background.
