I've just received my rear d-shaft today, and i've installed it. I was all excited to take the first ride with my 5.0L Ranger
.....I put it in gear and nothing, raise rpm to 2-3000 rpm and 4-5 second later the transmission engage. Let it return to idle for some second and she return to "neutral". So i parked the truck and will check it this week end. Anybody have an idea of the problem. The transmission(and all the other part for my swap) come from a 1989 bronco full size. When i bought the truck at the junk yard too many part was removd from the truck to let me try the truck, so i've never seen the tranny work.
1- May it be the TV cble adjustement(the bracket on the side of the transmission was very abused, i've rectified it the best i can)
2- May it be the oil filter pick-up orifice plugged by the oil pan(the oil pan and the oil filte was very embossed, so i rectified the oil pan and put a new filter kit)
3-Other thing to verify?????????
