AOAA - November 11th 2023

I'm getting excited but I have a few questions.

Is there a fee to attend the event?

Are we pro beer or is it frowned upon?

That's the spirit! Go. Have fun. Ride-along can be fun and you can learn stuff from each other.

It's all a learning experience for me. Not sure if anyone will learn anything from me though. Lol. This website is really bringing me out of my shell. Hope I don't get cold feet the day of.

There are park fees and a waiver, and there is a very strict no alcohol on the trails policy there. you will be kicked out in the least and potentially banned

there is a campground there as well though and drinking is fine there after the day is done. I havent decided about camping or not, depends strongly on weather

Ok. I'm not looking to break any rules. I want to show respect. I've never been to anything, ever. Also what's the rules with wives/family? Does anyone bring their partners?

Some do. We generally don’t care either way. 85_Ranger brought the whole family and then some. A couple others brought their son. So, it’s up to you and how many vehicles and seats you have available.

The more the merrier!

Says the guy that can't go 😔😋

This can be a family- oriented hobby. It's all up to you and your family.

The local offroad park near me is extremely family-friendly. The owners have kids. Many families show up. There is camping. Kids are out riding and driving vehicles - everything from mini bikes to full-size 4X4 trucks. They have bonfires, night rides, Barbie Jeep races, trunk-or-treat, tennis ball competitions, etc. The only people who should not be included are those who are not interested.

You'll see a ton of families at AOAA. Kids riding, passengers. Solid park.

I think the trails are better at Rausch, but AOAA has a better setup

Ah this is great! Might need two available seats now...

If I'm able to make it, I'll have one open seat. Until the 2019 has proper tires for trail riding, I'm not taking it anywhere off road. Tires and axles are the most important things for off roading. The 2019 has the axles but didn't come with the tires. Sad for an FX4 vehicle that is supposed to be built for off road.

If these are the kinds of events you guys do I might have to switch my build direction. Off-roading seems intimidating to me though but fun. I'll be honest I was so excited about the event that I completely forgot about my girlfriend. I forgot she was supposed to come. Man of the year.

Is anyone actually camping out? I have annoying questions to ask.

With the meet time and the time it takes to get there, I'll be camping. I haven't decided if it will be a tent or in the bed of the truck.

Asking because I really have no idea what I'm in for or what to expect. I've never even been camping I'm really stepping out of my comfort zone here. The idea of it doesn't bother me as I thought it would so I'm up for it, I just need to know how to prepare. How do you guys usually meet up? Does everyone sort of camp in the same area? I'm so lost.
