I'm just wondering if anyone has used the stock column shift on a aod, mine is a 2000 with explorer headers, two wheel drive, and a 91 aod. I have had the motor in and out several times getting things right using a dummy empty aod case with no shift lever so I hope someone has some idea whats ahead for me.:icon_confused:

Not too sure, I used a B&M Sport shifter in my Ranger and my Mustang has a B&M ratchet shifter. But I have run into installing an AOD from a floor shifter to a column shifter car and the shift arm needed to point up (column) as opposed to down (floor) to get the right geometry. I suppose it would really depend on the placement of the trans, but I think you could get it working, it would take some modding and dicking around with the linkage. May not be the same numbering, AODs are PNRD21 where I think my A4LD was PNR@D21. Have to let us know what you come up with.

I used a stock column shifter with my 4R70W which is a upgraded AOD. I used a shifter cable and the the bracket that mounts it to the trans from a 93 Explorer V6 with the A4LD trans. I cut a peice of 1" angle iron and bolted it to the factory holes in the 4R70W case and then tac welded the shifter cable bracket to it then removed it and welded it and cut the extra off that was not needed painted it black and reinstalled for a some what factory stock look. My camera broke or I would have sent you a pic. I will see if I can get a camera from some one and get you a few pics.......Mike.
