Anyone succeeded in increasing their Gas mileage?

What's the acetone supposed to do? A friend of mine heard this on talk radio or somewhere a few years ago. He kept adding acetone to the gas in his Chevy s-10. Eventually it must have ate through the rubber bladder in the mechanical fuel pump because it started leaking from the weephole. Like the genius he is he plugged the weephole with epoxy. This caused the engine block to become filled with gas and explode!

We tried this over at RPS, it only increased mileage slightly.

i took out the 2.9 and installed a 4.0l.with 33's it went from 15-17 to 15-19

the best way to improve fuel milaege.
1. use cruise control
2. over inflate tires. DO NOT EXCEED MAX PRESSURE. i run 40 in all my vehicles
3. keep the air cleaner clean.
my contour actually gets 33 mpg when i run shell gas. but it does not improve trucks 12 to 14 mpg.

Yes my truck LOVES V-power! It is documented that you can increase your mpg just by switching to V-power.(do a google search)

Shell uses some good additives in their blends. 93 is the only octane gas you can get that does NOT have ethanol added, at least around here.

I jimmy riged an air cone on my intake droped in some new dual fire plugs and I have the tornado also I put in a elec fan . I have a 3.0 stock exhaust with 245/75/16 MT'/R's and I run 17-19 in town and right around 25 on the highway.

I found a way to increase my MPG and still have fun driving it too. Now I can floor it, make hard turns, slam the brakes, and go off-roading. All this and I still get 60mpg. Now if mean the Ranger, tune-ups is the best thing.

What, you thought the Ranger got 60mpg, no, thats my Kawasaki KLX250. The Ranger gets 22mpg city. :derisive:
