Anyone own a Powersharp chainsaw chain sharpener?

I got one of the $30 harbor freight chain grinders, works great.

the craftsman saws are made by Poulan, same thing. Nearly every one of those things needs to be tuned to run right, I've ran into 3 or so of those that needed to be richened up to run at all

Dad has two Poulan saws, the one has a 16" bar and ran good for awhile, now it will usually start but stalls as soon as you try to cut something. Not sure what to do with it

A carb kit, spark plug and cleaning the exhaust screen in the muffler will probably do it. Can't tell you how many "junk" chainsaws, weed wackers, lawnmowers, etc I have fixed that way.

You can't pay anyone to do it though.

We turn them away anymore, you get the thing running right and the guy has a fit because he could have bought a new one for not much more money. So we just cut out the middle man and tell them to go buy a new one

Same goes for the older "tank" saws. Parts are hard to find and expensive when you do that it is cost prohibitive for most people to fix them.

I do it on the side and make decent money but yeah, no way I could do it full time. I get a lot of stuff for free and can put minimal cash into it and sell it so it works out well.

I do the same thing... people won't pay $75 an hour for a shop to work on a cheapie weedeater/chainsaw/lawnmower but will pay $40 plus parts for someone on the side to do it.
