Does anyone on here work for ford or a former ford plant? If so whats some news on the lay-offs ?

My step father works as an IT manager for 15 plants. Haven't been hearing too much lately. They have been going around plant to plant every once and a while and offering "buy-out" plans. Haven't really been listening in to it too much cause it's just a giant headache. All I know is the way manufacturing and the domestic auto industry is going, it's getting hard to live in Michigan. I work in a guitar shop that buys used gear and I'm seeming a lot of people selling their equipment. Michigan is not the place to be right now.

I work in the Glass plant in Tulsa, Ok that ford used to own till about a month ago. last news I got was most plants are having a temp shutdown. All 2009 production is put off till so many of the 2008 sells. They are cutting back are hours here to because we have no orders to fill for ford.
