i heard that i could put 302 rods in my 2.3? is that true? i realize it may be a stupid question but a guy i know swears up and down hes seen it done before.... does anyone know for sure?

i heard once that it was 289 rods.........what i would do is go down to checker or autozone and buy 1 rod bearing for yours and the v8 and compare them, also call your local machine shop and ask for crankshaft journal diameter specs. (a machine shop that repairs crankshafts) then compare rod lenght, and wrist-pin diameters, and also look to see if a 2.3 can be bored to match an existing v8 bore so you can just use v8 pistons too :dunno:

but easiest would be to call racer walsh (http://racerwalsh.zoovy.com/) they do a lot for 2.3's
