Anyone else drive RC cars/trucks/boats/crawlers/planes?

Or build your own crawler using the best parts.

im actually in the process of designing a dig for my mrc. i need to get a 4 channel radio though because my aux channel is used by my front axle winch. when i get on a steep climb i crank it tight to pull the chassis down on the front axle and lower the center of gravity. just a cool free mod i did with an extra servo i had laying around. im not quite to the skill level where it will be really beneficial yet.

Wow, I totally missed this thread.

I am now officially an RC addict, and 4x4junkie is totally to blame. He had to post a pic of the Traxxas Summit here a while back, and I had to have one. Now I also have 2 Rustlers (one VXL, and one XL-5 that's my project truck), and I'm currently debating between a brushless E-Maxx or a brushless Revo.

Lord knows how much money I've dumped into these things. Probably a couple grand. I guess I'm the junkie.

Here's a pic of my Summit and one of my Rustlers:

My Summit is pretty much stock aside from red aluminum toe links and push rods. I do have an extra clear body for it, I'm just trying to decide on a paint scheme.

My Rustler VXL has RPM shock towers, arms and front bumper, and red aluminum caster blocks/axle carriers. I'm running Venom and SPC 3S LiPo's.

i have a traxxas rustler or what ever not brushless or nitro just normal. is there anyway to lock that rear axle??

RC Sailboats and Helos for me. I prefer the Blade CX Helo, it's counter rotation, not muss, no fuss and it's cheap to fix.

Yeah it's called a spool and traxxas sells it in it's aftermarket parts or check out tower hobies.com

so your rustler is most likely a Xl-4, Xl-5 or Xl-5w.p. easiest way to do that, if you're certain that you want to, is just pull out the little differential drum, take out the 4 screws that hold it together, open it, scrape most the grease out, and spread some epoxy or strong glue in it and put it back together. then its locked locked.down side is if u ever wanna go back you'll have to buy a new diff. and another down side to locking a trophy truck is you WILL eat through the out put shafts/yolks/stub axles and tires.... fast

thanks to this forum, i too am now a rc addict. just what i needed was another hobby, especially when i still need to finish my REAL car.....lol.

i got a maxstone rock crawler mothers day weekend. it is cheaply made, but i dont care, i just wanted something to screw around with in the backyard. i have a real truck to take 4 wheeling.

it is the SH!T.....i broke the front d-shaft the day after i got it tho, i was pretty pissed, but i just made a new one from some metal tubing i had laying around and it works great now.

here's some pics:

that's a sweet build, i prefer the hardcore rc rock crawlers, but the stuff you can get for scalers is INSANE.....btw, i'm 'creepcrawlin' on the rc rock crawler forums, i'm about to go subscribe to your rc build thread right now

lol that wasnt my thread, just one i found. i really wish that was mine though. I want a scaler now cause i already have a bui;t Losi comp crawler rig
