anyone an expert in installing geothermal cooling?

sounds familiar
If your not going to use a in-ground well-field for heat transfer, and use an air cooled radiator instead, then its not geo-thermal, its just watersource. You might as well use traditonal air to air heat pump.

i checked out that site and found a new dealer pretty close to us so maybe next weekend we might go there and check things out and ask some questions. I'm just very confused on what cost so much. Is the pipe expensive or is it the heat pump? and we're mainly doing this for the cooling, the heating will just be an added bonus. We already have a wood burner for the same shed. So we don't really need the heating part of it.

The major benefit of ground source is rejecting heat into the ground during cooling season, and reclaiming it in the winter, At least thats what the PE's always say. Regardless, if you just need cooling, look at a traditional air cooled A/C split system.
