Any one with a FSM tell me if the book says replace U bolts

I've reused them before. Most of the time around here they get so rusty it isn't worth the time to mess around with trying to get them off in one piece. Usually just torch em off and carry on with the job.

The u-bolts stretch when you tighten them down. You can reuse them but good advice is to replace them. They are cheap and readily available so it isn't worth the risk imo.

I wanted something from a FSM that said either way. But as it stands, U bolts are reusable.
Obviously condition plays a part in reuse. In my area of country they dont rust and for the most part are in near factory fresh looking condition. And finding the type like ford uses is not that easy around here. I like those better than the completely round ones as I feel the higher surface area of the ubolt the greater clamping force it exerts.
I also wanted to stop a lot of internet Parroting of what can and should be done.
