On my 2011 4.0 sohc Ranger, looks like in addition to my thermo housing leaking, looks like water pump may be as well. Searched the forum, but couldn't find any "how-to" threads for the water pump. If I missed one, could you point me to it?

I did find the youtube below. Job looks pretty straight forward. Drain system, catch the fluid. Remove fan clutch, fan, and rad shroud. Remove water pump, clean gasket surface, reverse to install everything back. Replace serpentine belt while I am in there.

Anything else to be aware of? Wondering if access to any of the water pump bolts are blocked by any of the pulleys? Or are any of them difficult to get to? And room enough to get the gasket surface easily cleaned?

I did mine while my engine was out but from what I can tell it's doable fairly easy with the engine in. Fiddly like anything but the bolts should all be easily accessible. I'm not sure if it would save time by pulling the alternator bracket out of the way first or not. That could be taken off in a few minutes and would give you more room to work. Here's a couple photos that might show what you are potentially up against.

Thanks for the photos. Any chance you might have a "straight on" shot of the motor with alternator bracket and all pulleys in place?

Might not have a WP issue after all. Now w/ thermostat housing out of car it may just be coolant from that dripping down into the WP area.

To repl WP, manual says remove fan shroud, fan clutch and fan and replace WP. Reverse to install.

Anyone done a WP replacement w/ motor in car, 4.0 sohc that can share what access is like?

With engine still in car was wondering what access to the WP bolts was like? Along with ability to clean the gasket surface once old WP is removed. Was that alum alternator bracket in the way, any pulleys in the way?

No sorry that's all the photos I have. It won't be bad once you get into it. For my fan clutch I just use a 36mm wrench. Leave the belt on and give the end of the wrench a good stuff whack with the hammer and that knocked the fan clutch nut loose. The fan shroud has to be pulled off with the fan at the same time. 1 A Auto has videos for each one of these procedures individually so you can see how to do each step as you go.
