Any difference between 98-00 and 01+ front suspension

I have stumbled across a few things that seem to split up the 98-00 and 01+ rangers, and I'm wondering if they did anything different to the front suspension?

Or was this just more of a style change and engine change rather than a change to the suspension?

The 4x4 front linkage changed from the crappy PVH to the more reliable live axle in 2001.5.
