another rearend question

Rust on the ring gear is a symptom of sitting....

Part of the gear sat up out of the oil long enough so the oil could drain
completely off of it and condensation could form on the gear inside the housing causing it to rust.

Run it and that rust will disappear before you get around the block you live on.

well i guess i got screwed on this rearend...i thought a 3.73 gear ratio had a ring gear with 73 teeth but the ring gear in this rear end has 41 teeth...the number on the ring gear are E37W AB 1141 ... it has ford stamped on it so im guessing someone pull the 3.73 out of it and put this in it..my luck i guess

The pinion should have 11 teeth then. 41/11 is 3.73. The rear end is good, but your math was wrong.

yea it was 3.73...11 pinion gear 41 ring gear= 3.73.....thanks guys

i would like to flush out the rearend.. what could i use that i could just pour in and drain out that wont hurt anything..
